Fimo Flowers Nails

In this tutorial I’ll show you how I make this nail design using fimo flowers. You can buy these on eBay or even at your local Sally’s Beauty Supply store.

You’ll need:

  • Black or white nail polish for the branches.
  • Any color of nail polish for the base coat. In this case I went for a deep sea blue.
  • Fimo Flower Sticks or Pre-cut fimo flowers
  • Top coat
  • Base coat
  • Thin brush
  • (Optional) Exacto knife
  • (Optional) Eyelash glue
  • (Optional) Tweezers

Remember to always start off with a base coat to protect your nails before painting them. Afterwards apply 1-2 coats of your base color nail polish on all fingers.

If you did not buy the pre-cut fimo flowers, take your exacto knife and carefully slice off thin pieces of the flowers.

Take your thin brush and dip it into your black/white nail polish and draw random strokes. It doesn’t have to be perfect because branches are very random.

After cutting the fimo sticks into the desired amount of pieces there are 1 of 2 ways to stick them on to your nails.

Method #1: Using eye lash glue, dab a little bit onto each flower and then place it into the desired position on your nail using tweezers. Again, it does not have to be perfect nor in a specific spot.

Method #2: While putting on your top coat, before it dries lay the fimo flower pieces into the polish and let it dry.

Complete everything with a nice shiny top coat.

And you’re done! ヾ(*´∇`)ノ

Roromiya Karuta Cosplay Sneak Peek

Here is an actual sneak peek of me in my Karuta cosplay. 🙂 No official photoshoot photos yet. Not until AnimeExpo!

(I noticed how my NyanCat always manages to make it into my photos…)

Q: If Karuta saw NyanCat in danger, would she save him or eat him? 【・ヘ・?】

Leave a comment below to let me know your thoughts on it. 〜( ̄▽ ̄〜)

Nail Art : Pusheen!

Here’s a little brief tutorial on how to do these cute little Pusheen inspired nails.

Always start off doing your nails by using a base coat to protect it. I use Maybelline Salon Expert base coat.

After the initial base coat go ahead and apply a layer of gray. I prefer to have something lighter on my nails so I went for a more silvery tone by Sally Hansen (4839-06 Pewter). Put on as many coats it takes depending on the color/brand. I only needed 1 coat.

For the eyes I dripped a bit of black nail polish on a piece of paper so it acts as a pallet. From there I can then work with the color. You can also just paint your tools each time using the brush of the nail polish. Preference.

After the eyes I used a small brush to add in the little detailing. Three lines up top on Pusheen’s head, his whiskers, and his little stubby legs. Continue on every finger apply a top coat and you’re done. 🙂

This is a fairly old cosplay that I did one year ago at AnimeExpo 2011 but I thought I’d upload this to my collection on my blog. (`・ω・´)” My best friend actually went as Freya, Chii’s older sister and she wore the same dress just in black.

Eye Make-up Steps

Just brief steps on how I did my make up for Miss Fortune. I’m not a wiz at this and truth be told I’m an amateur cosplayer. (⌒_⌒;)

1. Apply your favorite eye liner on the top of  your eye lid. It can be pencil or liquid eyeliner. Whatever you are comfortable with.

2. Using either a sponge brush or a regular fluff brush apply the blue eyeshadow to your lid while having the ends tail upwards.

Image

3. Take the false eyelash you plan to use and snip off the tails and then in half. I only put it to the ends of my eyes to give my eyes. Eyelash glue, blow, stick, and you’re good.

4. Finished the look off with some red lipstick and tada! Miss Fortune.

Some amateur shots. Just some quick shots before I actually prepare to take better shots during the day with better lighting.
